What is included in a Crab Island tiki boat tour?

Your Crab Island tiki boat tour includes everything you need for a great day on the water. Our custom-designed tiki boat has a thatched roof and bamboo bar, a captain to handle all the navigation, a bluetooth sound system, and more. We will provide the safety equipment, comfy seating, a floating lily pad for swimming, and everything you need for a relaxing day at Crab Island.

How long is the Destin tiki boat cruise to Crab Island?

Our public tiki boat cruises are 3 hours, giving you time to cruise through the harbor, hang out at Crab Island, swim, and enjoy everything Destin’s beautiful water has to offer. For the private tour options, we offer 4 and 8 hour private tiki cruises.

Can I bring my own food and drinks on The Tipsy Tiki?

It depends on your trip. On our public Tiki swim trips, outside alcohol isn’t permitted, but beer and other drinks are available for purchase on board. On private Tiki charters, you’re welcome to bring your own alcohol. For any trip, you can bring snacks, sandwiches, and non-alcoholic drinks. Just pack everything in cans or plastic containers, since glass isn’t allowed for safety reasons. Crab Island has food vendors, but they don’t sell alcohol, so private charter guests should bring their own if they plan to drink.

How many people can fit on the Crab Island tiki boat?

Our Destin tiki boat holds up to 28 guests. That’s a lot more than most other tiki boats in Destin, which typically don’t have capacity or licensing for more than 6-12 people. This makes us perfect for big groups like bachelorette parties, family reunions, corporate events, or friend groups who want to stay together instead of splitting up across multiple boats.

What should I bring on a Destin tiki boat tour?

Sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, and your food and drinks in plastic containers or cans. If you’re going to swim, bring a change of clothes and maybe some water shoes. A waterproof phone case or bag for your valuables is also great to have, and a hat helps with sun protection. Wear comfortable swimwear and you’re good to go!

What happens if the weather is bad at the time of my tiki cruise in Destin?

At The Tipsy Tiki, safety is #1. If the weather is deemed unsafe, we’ll contact you to reschedule your tour at no charge. We monitor weather conditions closely and follow Coast Guard guidelines. If the weather looks questionable, we’ll work with you to reschedule or provide a full refund if that doesn’t work with your schedule.

During the off-season, you can park along the harbor. During the busy season, we have a parking lot that operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

When is the best time to book a tiki cruise in Destin?

Destin is beautiful year-round, so any time is a great time to book a tiki cruise! We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks ahead during the summer season (June-August) since we can fill up quite quickly, especially on weekends. During the rest of the year, you can usually book a few days in advance. Morning or early afternoon cruises are ideal if you want to avoid the strongest sun.

The Tipsy Tiki (530 Harbor Blvd): free parking right at the dock, first come, first served — when the lot fills, overflow waits just up the hill at 531 Mountain Drive.

Check-In

Nothing to study, nothing to steer — every tiki cruise sails with a licensed captain. Just be dockside 45 minutes before departure with a photo ID; the crew handles boarding and the safety talk, keeps life vests, bottled water, and a restroom on board, and floats the lily pad and water toys at the swim stop.

Bring aboard: snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in a soft-sided cooler (skip the glass), reef-safe sunscreen, and a hat that can handle a breeze. Adult beverages are available on board. Weekends fill fast — book about 48 hours out.
